As many local residents and drive-in patrons are aware, the underlying cause of the Diamond State Drive-In’s imminent departure from the cultural and roadside landscape of Kent County is the rising realestate values.
In order for a drive-in to survive in this region, property for a viable site can not exceed a price of more than $12,000.00 per acre.
This has not been possible to find!!
If you know of a suitable location within this price range, please . We would love to remain a part of this community.
If we are able to locate such a site, we will also need your support to dispel the “Not in my back yard” notion which has led to the dismissal of two prospective locations.
Change is a vital part of our community. Without it, we risk stagnation. However without a connection to our collective past, how can we improve our prospects for the future?
We hope that the drive-in has a future on Delmarva; without your help this will not be possible.
